Meet Kodi Smith

January Volunteer of the Month!!!! Meet Kodi Smith!

Did you see that golf cart go past you with a guy with a HUGE smile on his face in it? That would be January's Volunteer of the Month Kodi Smith!

Kodi has been volunteering with Home County for three years and has worn a number of hats. He has helped with Festival set up, lent a hand at the EcoStations and serves as an important assistant to our Site Coordinator, Jenny Rensby. At last year's Festival, Kodi spent Friday directing the Craft and Artisan vendors to their booths and assisting with their set up.

Kodi got involved with Home County through his mom and he says, not surprisingly, that his favourite part of Home County is driving around with Jenny in the golf cart! Kodi says that his most memorable takeaway from Home County is the Festival closing ceremony where all the staff and volunteers join together onstage.

We asked Jenny Rensby to tell us a bit about Kodi. She says, "Kodi has volunteered with with me for two or three festivals now. He showed up with his mom and I took him under my wing. He is an amazing assistant and will take on any task. He was especially helpful in keeping track of the 100 places I need to be at any given moment. He is a great help on load in days - I think his favourite part is getting to ride on the golf carts. He worked more than his scheduled shifts, has an awesome demeanor and is always smiling. My favourite memory of Kodi is sneaking off for 'shots' - Big Daddy Bacon shots that is! I'm not sure if he stuck around for my company or the bacon!"

Kodi - thanks for bringing a smile to everyone's face at Home County. You remind us all to stay positive even when things seem a bit out of control! This is a true gift. We look forward to seeing you in July!
