Comings & Goings on Your Board of Directors

We are so thankful to the following new Board Members who have volunteered their time and knowledge to join the Board of the Home County Folk League. The nominees were welcomed to our Board at the November 30th Annual General Meeting of members. There are some new faces along with some very familiar faces of old. Please visit the Board of Directors page for full bios of all of our Board Members.

Kevin Davidson - Kevin is starting his first term with Home County. He is a public librarian and supervisor of the Crouch Branch Library. Kevin has been a resident of London for 11 years.

Jennifer Heidenheim - Jen is a (nearly) life-long Londoner and is a big supporter of London's local music and culture scene. She's been volunteering with Home County since 2015 and is a member of the Festival Organizing Committee.

Chris McAuley - Chris is a semi-retired business professional who worked for over 35 years in the profit and not-for profit industries. You may have seen his name in lights around London as he has been an actor in the London theatre scene for over 14 years, performing in dozen of shows.

Paul Tomlinson - We are thrilled that Paul chose to run for re-election this year as he currently serves as the Treasurer of the Board. Paul began volunteering with Home County in 2015 and has served on the Board ever since.

Martha Zimmerman - Thankfully, Martha is not leaving us! In October of this year, Martha resigned her position as the Office Administrator and Book Keeper to take on another role. She decided to join us on the Board of Directors and we are so pleased. Martha is a life-long Londoner and has been enjoying Home County since the early 1980s.

At the same time, we'd bidding farewell to a number of Board Members.

Chuck Reid is ending his tenure on the Board this year after an epic stint. Chuck Reid developed a love of folk music at an early age and was a regular attendee at the Home Count Festival. Then in 2010, a colleague at work who was a member of the Home County Board invited him to attend a meeting.  That was all it took!  Chuck decided to run for the Board and was elected that Fall. He then went on to serve three consecutive three-year terms – the maximum allowed under our bylaws. But after a year off, Chuck ran again and served another year. As a Board Member, Chuck has always been a strong contributor bringing a huge amount of knowledge and experience to the table, particularly in the areas of finance and administration. Every Board needs someone who is not afraid to ask the tough questions and Chuck is certainly that kind of person! In addition to his Board work, Chuck has served on the Finance Committee and coordinated fund raising activities. Thanks for your almost dozen years of service to Home County, Chuck…you will be missed!

Stephanie Jocelyn-Fogarty is leaving the Board after two years of incredible contributions to our Planning & Governance Committee especially. Stephanie served as Chair of the Committee and spearheaded a clean-up and consolidation of our organization's policies.

We would also like to thank Ahmed Bakare, Bassam Lazar, Karen Murdoch and Jenny Rensby who stepped down from the Board over the past year. We're so happy that so many of you are staying on with us for Festival organizing.
