Volunteer
Some people think of music, crafts or food when they think of Home County Festival but it is also VOLUNTEERS. Home County relies almost exclusively on volunteers to put on the festival. Last year 300 volunteers worked to make that festival one of our best ever. Each volunteer commits to working at least 6 hours over the weekend. Students who are looking for volunteer hours in order to graduate are encouraged to help out at the Festival and will be given a certificate at the end of the festival documenting the number of hours.
There are many volunteer positions, times and dates available. On the Thursday prior to the Festival we need volunteers from 9-4, Friday and Saturday and Sunday from 9 until midnight and on Monday from 9-4. Some of the jobs include stage assembly, putting up tents, park maintenance, program sales, ticket sales, instrument check, performers area, merchandizing, performing surveys and the children's area and parking.
Don't be worried about working alone. Most jobs are organized so that you are with someone else. There are also Volunteer Coordinators available to answer any questions.
This year we are looking for volunteers who can sign for the hearing impaired. We would like to expand this service to the Children's area.
If you are interested in participating in a first class folk festival, meeting friendly people and giving something back to your community please sign up to volunteer.
